Yes, the UV-9R Plus is rated IP67. This means it is dust-tight and can be submerged in up to 1 meter of water for 30 minutes.
Why is there only one Programming Cable?
The programming cable connects the radio to a computer. You only need one cable to program the entire fleet of 10 radios, as you program them one at a time using the same PC.
Can I use my UV-5R accessories with this?
No. The UV-9R Plus uses a special multi-pin waterproof connector. Standard 2-pin K1 accessories used on the UV-5R will not fit.
Do I need a license to use this radio?
Yes, in the UK and most other countries, you need a valid Amateur Radio license or a Business Radio license to transmit on the VHF/UHF frequencies this radio supports.
